ABOUT THIS PROJECT

MWM Consulting helped manufacturer Summit Polymers to Anderson County, resulting in a $37.5M investment and creation of 218 new jobs - the largest new company project for the county in decades.

SUMMIT POLYMERS

Summit Polymers is a leading plastics compounding company that provides custom polymer formulations to major appliance, automotive, and consumer goods manufacturers. With growing customer demand, Summit sought a new production facility to increase capacity. After reviewing options across multiple states, they engaged MWM Consulting to identify the optimal location in Anderson County for their new polymer plant.

THE CHALLENGE

With multiple states in consideration for Summit's new production plant, it was critical for Anderson County to move quickly and present the most optimal location option. Summit needed a site meeting very specific criteria - close proximity to an interstate and Louisville along with 40 acres of land. Expertise in site selection and incentive negotiations would be key to securing this transformational project in a highly competitive environment.

THE SOLUTION

Leveraging our extensive existing economic development work for Anderson County, the MWM team was able to rapidly identify and thoroughly vet potential sites that aligned with Summit's requirements. We negotiated incentives at the state and local level, including approval of $475,000 from the Kentucky Department of Transportation for road improvements to maximize site viability. MWM coordinated efforts across various stakeholders to create a tailored solution addressing Summit's needs.

THE RESULT

The construction of Summit Polymers' new Anderson County production plant represents the largest economic development achievement for the community in years. MWM Consulting's established expertise in the area, combined with our capabilities in site selection and incentive negotiation, were instrumental to the success of this deal. The $37.5 million investment and creation of 218 full-time jobs signifies a massive boost to Anderson County's economy. Our proactive efforts, local relationships, and collaboration ensured Anderson County landed this game-changing project rather than another state. The economic benefits will uplift the community for years to come.
